A major fire broke out at Bollywood singer Shaan’s Mumbai residence on Tuesday, December 24. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and worked relentlessly to bring the blaze under control. Sadly, the fire left an 80-year-old woman in critical condition, and she was rushed to the ICU for treatment.
Singer Shaan’s residence catches fire
As reported by India Today, the fire started on the seventh floor of Fortune Enclave, a residential building in Bandra West, where Shaan lives on the 11th floor. Although it is not clear whether Shaan was at home at the time, he has not released an official statement regarding the incident. The 80-year-old woman, who had difficulty breathing, was rescued from the fire and taken to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Authorities were alerted to the fire around 1:45 am, prompting the deployment of 10 fire trucks to the location. The fire services worked to extinguish the flames and evacuate the building’s residents. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the fire, according to fire department officials. Both the police and fire services are continuing their investigation into the cause of the incident.
Shaan’s professional and personal life
In a recent appearance on The Ranveer Show, Shaan reflected on his career in the music industry. He shared how, in the early days of his career, singers had limited freedom to add their personal touch to songs. He recalled how composers like Anu Malik and Nadeem-Shravan would make all the creative decisions, leaving the singers to follow their directions without deviation.
Shaan also noted how times have changed, with singers now having the freedom to bring their own interpretations into songs. He praised modern vocalists for this creative liberty, highlighting Arijit Singh’s unique style. He particularly admired Singh’s ability to add captivating outrolls to his songs, which, according to Shaan, creates a beautiful and almost hypnotic effect.
Shaan made his debut as a playback singer in 1999 with the song Musu Musu Hasi from Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, which became an instant hit. Over the years, he has lent his voice to many popular tracks, including O Humdum Suniyo Re from Saathiya, Kuch To Hua Hai from Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Don from Don – The Chase Begins Again, and Chaand Sifarish from Fanaa, among others.
